Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra have welcomed the lifting of a self-imposed ban by cinema owners on screening of Indian films in Pakistan.
Speaking at the sidelines of Stardust Awards last night, B-Town celebs expressed their joy at this development.
“Art should go across the world. I have always believed that. So, I am glad about it,” Priyanka told a leading agency, according to Pink Villa, a celebrity website.
Film star Kajol said that she is happy that it is a great sign for the film industry.
“Anything where the film industry gets a brick, where the film industry gets a positive sign etc, I am all for the film industry,” she said.
Anil Kapoor also expressed his happiness over the decision. “I am very happy about it, it is a great news,” the veteran said.
Theatre owners in Pakistan had suspended screening of Indian films after the Indian Motion Pictures Producers’ Association (IMPPA) banned Pakistani artists and technicians from working in India.
This happened in the wake of political tension between India and Pakistan, post the Uri attacks. However, a recent update suggested that they have lifted the ban. – Web Desk
