PESHAWAR: Noted Pashto film actor Umar Daraz Khalil died at the Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar, after suffering a brain haemorrhage attack. He was 74.
According to our correspondent, the actor was under treatment in LRH after going into coma since Wednesday.
His funeral prayers was offered in Peshawar today (Saturday) after which he was buried at his ancestral graveyard in Chamkani. He is survived by a daughter and widow.
Umar Daraz was born in 1948 in Chamkani village and had got education up to intermediate level. He had launched his film career in 1971 from Pashto film ‘Dara Khyber’. He had performed in around 700 Pashto, Urdu and Punjabi films. – Samaa/Agencies
