Actor Hamza Ali Abbasi on Wednesday spoke for the rights of most marginalized section of society – transgenders.

This was a much-needed move, especially after the video of a transgender being beaten up violently was released.

In the video posted on Facebook, Abbasi praised the Khawaja Sirah support program initiated by Akhuwat foundation.

He said the aim of the programme is to enable the transgender community to step out of their old lifestyle and work for a living with dignity.

“This is important because transgenders are the most marginalized section in our community. Unfortunately, we have isolated and demonized them so much that we refuse to see their human side,” Hamza said.

“Let’s make them part of the mainstream, let’s make them proud Pakistani’s, and let’s give them the chance to live their life with dignity and earn a living for themselves,” he added.
