MUMBAI: Indian actor Rishi Kapoor has turned down an offer from Pakistani film director Nadeem Baig to act in a sequel of his hit comedy, Indian media reported.
In a recent interview, Baig confirmed offering a role to Bollywood’s veteran actor Rishi Kapoor in Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2.
Kappr, however, turned it down, saying, “Rather than casting Indian actors in Pakistani movies, it would be a good idea to find a strong story, which makes an impact on Indian cinema.”
This comes amid escalation of tensions between Pakistan and India in the wake of cross-border shelling and Uri attack.
On Thursday, Indian film producers association put a temporary ban on Pakistani actors and technicians.
In return, Pakistani cinema owners announced that they would take down all Indian films to express solidarity with the army and nation over Indian cross-border shelling.- SAMAA
