Sonu Nigam recalls escaping death with Amjad Sabri from Karachi bombing

KARACHI: Renowned Indian singer Sonu Nigam recalled escaping death with one of the South Asia’s best Sufi singer Amjad Sabri from a bomb blast in Karachi in 2004.

Like other celebrities, Sonu took to Twitter to share his views on the killing of Sabri by unknown assailants in Karachi.

“Amjad Sabri, Tragic departure! Not just sang wth (with) me bt (but) escaped death with me and my fmly (family) on 10 April 2004 from a bomb blast in Karachi. RIP,” he wrote.

Indian actress Richa Chadda also mourned the killing of Sabri.

“RIP Amjad Sabri. You can kill an artist, but art is eternal. Big loss for music globally #stopviolence,” she wrote on Twitter.

Indian Singer Armaan Malik expressed grief over the shooting incident.

“Sad 2 hear abt #AmjadSabri sahab's death. Don't know why innocent musicians are being killed, even tho they spread da msg of love & aman!!,” Malik wrote.
