MUMBAI: India authorities on Wednesday quizzed Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan in connection with allegedly irregularities in sale of shares of Knight Riders Sports Pvt Ltd (KRSPL) to a Mauritius-based company, according to Indian media reports.
Bollywood actress Juhi Chawla, her husband Jay Mehta and Shah Rukh Khan are co-owners of the KRSPL.
According to reports, India’s Enforcement Directorate (ED) questioned Khan regarding undervaluation of the shares of the company that runs the actor’s IPL team, Kolkata Knight Riders.
The top Indian actor is suspected to have violated India’s FEMA (Foreign Exchange Management Act, media reports said quoting ED officials.
The officials said Khan also recorded his statement in the case.
Indian media reports said Khan is suspected for receiving illegal money from certain foreign tax havens. – Samaa/Agencies
