ISLAMABAD: Renowned Television and stage artist Fareed Khan passed away at Karachi on Saturday.
Khan, whose real name was Fareed-ud-Rehman Khan, was suffering from throat cancer for the last couple of years and was under treatment at a local hospital.
Khan was one of the most famous comedians in the country with several successful shows/dramas to his credit.
In 1966, Fareed Khan was selected as a singer and drama artist by Radio Pakistan.
His performance in a play “Aap Apney Daam Mai” had broken the records of his fame back in the day.
Khan also got number of awards for his unforgettable comic roles.
Minister for Information Broadcasting and National Heritage, Senator Pervaiz Rashid has expressed his heartfelt condolence over Khan's demise.
“His death is a national loss. Fans will remember Fareed Khan for his funnymanship for long time,” the minister said in a message issued here.
