Dubai musical show pays tribute to Sheikh Ayaz

DUBAI: A musical evening organized by the Sindhi community living in Dubai, in memory of renowned Sindhi poet Shaikh Ayaz will be held on Friday (today).
The event, ‘Mehran Rang’ is expected to be attended by around 1,800 people as there is a huge Sindhi-speaking community living in the UAE, event organizer Dr Qadir Sarki said.
The show will be held at 8pm at the Shaikh Rashid Auditorium at the Indian High School in Bur Dubai.
Guests at the event will include Saussi Paleejo, Provincial Minister for Culture in Sindh, Pakistan, senior journalist and writer Nazir Laghari, Taj Joyo, secretary of the Sindhi Language Authority, Abdul Aziz Ukali, secretary of the culture department of the government of Sindh and others.
It is to be noted that Sheikh Ayaz is the most powerful poetic voice of Sindh after Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai. He left the world on December 28 1997. SAMAA
