Pak film director Masood Pervez’s anniversary today

Staff ReportKARACHI: The gigantic cinematic talent of Pakistan’s film industry Masood Pervez is being remembered on his death anniversary today (Saturday).Masood Pervez was one of the most successful directors that Pakistan’s film industry has had. He was born in 1918 in Amritsar and had acted in a few films before partition. He was related to Saadat Hasan Manto from his father’s side. After migrating to Pakistan, he directed his first film Beli in 1950 and then continued to make memorable films for almost 3 decades which include Intizar (1956), Zeher-e-Ishq (1958), Koel (1959), Jhoomar (1959), Sarhad (1966) Heer Ranjha (1970), Haider Ali (1978) and Khak Aur Khoon (1979). He died in Lahore on 10th March, 2001. SAMAA
