Moreover the energy crisis is also a problem in Pakistan, so welcoming pleasant winters is someone the Pakistanis look forward to. November- this is the time of the year when the strength of the heat weakens. In the early months of the winter season, the weather can be dangerous as people can catch a cold due to the dry winds and sudden climatic changes. This year, it has become more dangerous for people as the fifth season âsmogâ has been announced.
Pakistani environmentalists refer to November, when crop burning, higher emissions of chemicals and cold weather combine to blanket the parts of Punjab Province with acrid smog, as a âfifth seasonâ. At this point in time, people should take safety measures to protect themselves. Climate change plus smog can be more dangerous for one’s health. People can easily deal with smog by keeping their activities on a low pace in the smoggy days.

Winter is not the season to eat more. Although there are fewer foods that are in season in winter than in summer. Pomegranates, dark leafy greens and citrus can be the best food for winter season. Eating nutritious foods such as fruits and vegetables can help keep one’s immune system strong. A snack before going out in the cold is better than a heavy meal.
⢠Avoid dehydration:
Not just in summers, you should avoid dehydration in winter season also. Drink plenty of water to stay well hydrated. Dress properly: As the winter knocks at your door, wear outer clothing that shields the wind, smog, fog and sun from your skin. Cold and windy air causes a wind-chill effect that is more dangerous than the outside air temperature.
