Pakistan has been sensationally proved to be a reckoning power across cricket circuit, as recently it sieged the First spot in ICC T20 rankings for the first time ever, overtaking the kewi’s.
I think that this year has brought several accomplishments to the country as the Triumph of Champions trophy and the ice breaking of International Cricketing events at home soil after a gap of almost 8 years.
It is good to see the gradually rebuilding phase of the country, as after conducting successful International events at home has displayed the good impression in front of World community.
Pakistan has feated many fortunes in the history but being a fact that ups and downs are the part of life from where we would come to know the importance of the approach where we are trying to reach.
Let’s have a flash back to 2016 when we were down to the 7th rank in T20I’s, However just have a look on the hardworking and dedicationof the team which had turned large problems into facile success.
The time was too hard for a team which attains a power to trouble big sides of the world, fell to the tail end of the ranking.
Yes I am talking about the darkest era of the National team after the T-20 world cup 2016 where we drop aside to our dreams to conquer the title, despite that we gain the lowest rank.
Having said that the command of the team was given in the hand of a senior All-rounder Shahid Khan Afridi fondly called as “Boom Boom” team doesn’t accelerate to the expectations of the fans. Even though, the team was not able to make it for the semis.
The vitiate performance brought revolutionary changes on short notice as Afridi resigned immediately from T-20 format and Waqar take a side from the National team as a head coach.
I think these changes could be declared as the moment from where the team gradually started to fly when Sarfraz was brought in the picture to lead the National side. The 30 years old belongs to Karachi and did a lot struggle to make him for the National side. He was used as the replacement of Kamran Akmal for most of the times but as our elders says that passion and hardworking is a key to success. Similarly, happened in sarfraz’s case.
Being a captain his first and foremost responsibility was to tackle the senior players whom might have created a mess for him to lead the side from the front. He exceptionally proved himself a truly inspiring captain when he started on a winning note after defeating England at their home ground in loan T-20 match by 9 wickets haul. Leading the dominant side of T-20 in world cricket Fraternity and winning in such a style made the wicket-Keeper batsman a new hope for the fans.
Meanehile, Sarfraz Ahmad became the first captain to have such a high winning percentage (85.71%) so far, after being appointed as a captain. Under his captaincy Pakistan has played 14 matches out of which 12 goes in his favor while two went against. Misbah-ul-haq is on the second spot having 75% winning ratio while Shoaib Malik occupied third place having the winning percentage of 73.52%.
Meantime, Talking about T-20 format and not mentioning the Pakistan super league (PSL) would be in just, in fact it has now considered to be a brand for the country. PSL is noteworthy as it produces the Quality young talented players like Hasan Ali, Shadab Khan, Rumman Raees, Usman Shinwari, Fakhar Zaman whom are themselves a proof that the soil of pakistan has talent in a bulk but there is a need to groom them for bringing fame to the country, and the platform of PSL did the same.
I think the purpose of the newly born brand PSL proposed by Najam sethi, has fulfilled, and in upcoming times it would provide more opportunities to youngers in showcasing their corner of talent in front of the world.
It is our pride that our own league had marked the highest ratings from the very first year (2016), however it challenges the IPL which is most-rated league of the world, prior to that it was boggled to watch on several sites that the huge viewership of PSL is recorded in India as well.
Reaching on top position is a dream of every team but to attain that is very important. Pakistan in 2016 got ICC Test mace but they didn’t make it prolong and just fell down immediately after a month, eventually for this time we are hoping best from the national team under the leadership of Sarfraz who doesn’t have the habit to lose easily.
