Tragically, this period has left behind over 23,000 widowed women and orphaned more than a hundred thousand children in the region.
Reports indicate that the year 2023 has witnessed a continuation of the relentless Indian oppression in the occupied Kashmir, with nearly a hundred thousand Kashmiris having sacrificed their lives.
Regrettably, the toll includes over 23,000 bereaved widows and more than a hundred thousand orphaned children.
In February 2023, the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti, was falsely implicated in cases of heinous violence against humanity.

The residences and businesses of freedom activist Qazi Yaser were razed to the ground. During nine staged encounters, 27 innocent Kashmiris lost their lives.
Prominent figures such as Omar Abdullah and Rahul Gandhi have echoed calls for the restoration of political rights in the occupied Kashmir.
On 7th August 2023, Freedom Leader Yasin Malik's daughter, Raziya Sultana, appealed to the UN Secretary-General to intervene and spare her father from the death penalty.
Meanwhile, in occupied Kashmir, a theatrical enactment of the Indian scholarship scheme unfolded on 12th October, met with strong resistance from Kashmiri students who promptly rejected it.
On 13th December, the Indian Supreme Court delivered a historic, biased judgment on Kashmir, further exacerbating tensions.
On the same day, three abducted Kashmiris were extrajudicially killed under the custody of the Indian military.
While Kashmir remains under the control of the Indian forces, the people of Kashmir still hold on to the hope for freedom, and their resilient struggle for self-determination continues.
