A Think Tank named Republic Policy predicted that turnout would likely increase from 60 percent based on the feedback of the 266 constituencies of the National Assembly.
The organization said that out of 128,585m760 votes, eight crore voters will cast their votes utilizing their right to vote in the upcoming general elections to be held on February 8.
It is pertinent to note that the voter turnout dropped from 55.0% in 2013 to 51.7%.
As per the International IDEA report, voter turnout is one of the crucial indicators of how citizens participate in the governance of their country. Higher voter turnout is in most cases a sign of the vitality of democracy, while lower turnout is usually associated with voter apathy and mistrust of the political process.

Earlier, the Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency, (PILDAT) released a comprehensive report shedding light on the involvement of young voters in Pakistan’s electoral process.
Highlighting the significance of this demographic, the report revealed that during the 2018 general elections, 37% of the youth exercised their voting rights, marking a significant increase from the average turnout of 31% in the last eight elections.
At the report’s launching ceremony, various political figures voiced their concerns and suggestions. Pakistan PTI Senator Ali Zafar raised allegations regarding the implementation of free and fair election principles, stating that these standards aren’t being upheld.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Afnanullah expressed concerns about certain political factions engaging in negative propaganda that impacts the youth's perception.
