Fox's legal team, in a confidential letter to Carlson, has alleged that he is breaching the terms of his contract, which is valid until early 2025, restricting his ability to appear in media outlets other than Fox News. The letter is explicitly marked "not for publication."

Following his exit from Fox News, Tucker Carlson has embarked on producing a stripped-down version of his former Fox program, "Tucker Carlson Tonight," and sharing it directly on Twitter. His new show, dubbed "Tucker on Twitter," retains some of the key features of his previous prime-time program, including a monologue focusing on current events and cultural matters.

Harmeet K. Dhillon, an attorney representing Tucker Carlson, expressed in a statement that Fox News's legal action does not serve the best interests of the network's viewership.
