Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Khurram Dastgir said on Friday that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif had to face "injustice".
Speaking exclusively on Samaa TV, the former power minister said: “Under the guise of experimentation for bringing the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief into power, the country’s democracy was derailed and the country’s economy was dragged into a quagmire.”
“Nawaz Sharif had said on his return to the country that his party would not allow anyone to play with the country’s fate,” he said.
He made it clear that it was not on his party’s agenda to launch a “smear” campaign against any institution.
Recalling the May 9 mayhem, Dastgir asserted, “The PTI chief wanted to capture state power on May 9.”
He said, “The PTI chief was not fighting for civilian supremacy. It is only Nawaz Sharif who has struggled for the sake of civilian supremacy.”
“We will take steps for the supremacy of parliament if voted into power,” Dastgir maintained.
– Nothing to do with inflation –
PML-N senior leader Ahsan Iqbal said today that his party had nothing to do with the inflation in the country.
Speaking to the media in Narowal, the former planning minister alleged that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) government was to blame for the ballooning inflation in the country. "The ministry of planning and development has nothing to do with inflation."
He was of the view that the country was moving forward gradually.
Iqbal underscored the potential of the country's youth. He vowed to provide the loans to the youth if his party was voted into power.
He asserted, "Narowal is the stronghold of the PML-N."
