The Pakistan Airports Authority said maintenance of the radar surveillance system in Islamabad will be carried out today. The official maintenance window was stated as 10am to 4pm, while sources said the radar suspension period would continue from 10am to 6pm.
Flight operations to continue as usual
The Pakistan Airports Authority said air traffic services and scheduled flight operations will continue as usual during the maintenance period.
Sources also said air operations will not be affected despite the temporary suspension of radar services at Islamabad airport. During the suspension period, radar services for flights will be provided from Lahore airport under alternative arrangements.
Sources said the air traffic monitoring and guidance system will be operated from Lahore to ensure uninterrupted operations.
Domestic, international flights covered
The radar services provided from Lahore airport will be available for both international and domestic flights.
Officials said these arrangements have been made to ensure that air operations continue smoothly while maintenance work is completed.
