Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar has stated that PTI Founder Imran Khan has 70% vision in one eye with glasses and 6/6 vision in the other eye, following a fresh medical examination conducted on the orders of the Supreme Court.
Addressing a ceremony in Sheikhupura, the law minister said the medical team has expressed complete satisfaction with the treatment being provided.
Tarar confirmed that Imran Khan was re-examined in compliance with the Supreme Court’s directives. He said the former premier's eyesight in one eye is 70% with the help of glasses, while the other eye has normal 6/6 vision.
According to the minister, a detailed briefing was also given to opposition leaders as well as the founder’s personal doctors regarding his medical condition.
Medical team satisfied
The law minister claimed that the medical team has expressed full satisfaction over the treatment process. He assured that the PTI founder would be provided with all necessary medical facilities as required.
Tarar also criticized the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, calling its decision to close roads illegal. He warned that the law would come into action against any extra-constitutional measures and urged the provincial government to abide by the constitution and the law.
“The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government should act within constitutional limits,” he stressed.
All facilities provided
Parliamentary Secretary Barrister Daniyal Chaudhry echoed the statement, saying the founder has been provided with all facilities in the past and will continue to receive whatever medical support he needs.
“Whatever kind of doctor he requires will be arranged,” Chaudhry said.
He said that since day one, certain elements have been waiting for a deal and concession. He added that if negotiations are aimed at moving matters forward constructively, the government is ready. However, he cautioned that narratives of division, hatred, and arson cannot go hand in hand with reconciliation.
“If this narrative of division and unrest continues, there will be no relief,” Chaudhry stated, adding that no one will be allowed to disturb peace and order in the country.
