Pakistan has successfully launched its second indigenous electro-optical satellite, EO-2, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.
According to the ISPR, the new satellite, in coordination with EO-1, will enhance earth observation and improve the accuracy of data collection. The launch of EO-2 marks a significant advancement in the country’s space capabilities.
The locally developed satellite was launched from China. EO-2 was prepared at the Satellite Research and Development Centre of Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO).
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated the nation on the launch of EO-2 with the cooperation of China.
The prime minister said the satellite will assist in obtaining important information and imagery for urban planning. He added that it will help in gathering vital data and monitoring climate patterns.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the scientists and researchers who worked on the EO-2 project.
