Former Chief of Army Staff General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa is currently undergoing treatment at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) after sustaining injuries from a fall at his residence, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed on Thursday.
According to initial reports, Gen Bajwa slipped at his home, suffering multiple injuries. He was transferred to the CMH and admitted to the intensive care unit for treatment.
The exact extent of his injuries has not yet been disclosed.
The ISPR confirmed that the former army chief is under close medical supervision, and authorities continue to monitor his recovery.

Born on November 11, 1960, Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa served as Pakistan’s 10th Chief of Army Staff from November 29, 2016, to November 29, 2022. During his tenure, he played a key role in counter-terrorism operations and managed complex civil-military relations as well as regional security challenges.
Bajwa received his early education at F.G. Sir Syed College and Gordon College in Rawalpindi before joining the Pakistan Military Academy in 1978. He was commissioned into the 16th Baloch Regiment in 1980—the same unit once commanded by his father.
Over a career spanning more than four decades, Gen Bajwa held senior positions including Commander of X Corps, Inspector General of Training and Evaluation, and Force Commander of Gilgit-Baltistan. In 2018, he was ranked 68th on Forbes’ list of the World’s Most Powerful People.
