Indian actress Fatima Sana Shaikh has revealed that she faced a severe health crisis after gaining weight for her role in the film Dangal.
In an interview, Fatima shared that during the film, she consumed 2,500 to 3,000 calories daily. After shooting ended, she stopped exercising but continued her high-calorie eating habits, which led to an unhealthy relationship with food and ultimately triggered bulimia.
She described periods where she would eat continuously for two-hour stretches and then force herself to vomit to avoid gaining weight. “I had no control over myself. Sometimes I would overeat, other times I would completely restrict food,” Fatima admitted.
The actress explained that she experienced extreme mental stress and guilt, taking considerable time to realize that the problem was not just about food but also about her mental health.
Fatima Sana Shaikh emphasized that she is now more cautious about her health and is striving to maintain a balanced lifestyle.
