Bollywood stars Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone have increased security at their Mumbai residence following a threatening WhatsApp voice message demanding a large sum of money.
According to Indian media reports, the warning arrived shortly after the success of Ranveer Singh’s recent film Dhurandhar, prompting the couple to immediately notify police authorities.
Officials have launched an investigation to identify the unknown sender of the message. The threat included a demand for a substantial ransom, which led the Mumbai Police to step up security around the actors’ home.
A letter from the housing society revealed that six armed security personnel were deployed outside their residence without prior approval from the society’s management committee. In addition, a uniformed police officer has been assigned to assist the private security team.
The Mumbai Police confirmed that the probe pertains to a property in the Beau Monde building in Prabhadevi, Mumbai, where Ranveer Singh resides.
Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar is among the highest-grossing films of 2025 and has gained considerable attention in recent months, with preparations already underway for Dhurandhar 2. Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone, who last appeared in Singham Again in September 2024 before the birth of her daughter, is set to star alongside Shah Rukh Khan in the upcoming film King.
