UAE cricket team opener Mohammad Zohaib has been sent home from the T20 World Cup during the team’s tour of India.
Zohaib claimed that he was targeted and removed from the squad because of his Pakistani nationality. He alleged that the entire team management has ties to India and that he was excluded from the team for being Pakistani.
The cricketer has called on the Emirates Cricket Board to investigate the matter.
However, the Emirates Cricket Board stated that Mohammad Zohaib was sent back to Dubai from India due to violations of team discipline. The board added that further details will be released at an appropriate time, and no additional comments will be made at this stage.
