US president Donald Trump has sharply criticized Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl LX halftime show, calling it “the worst ever” after opting to skip the 2026 NFL championship game.
Shortly after Bad Bunny’s halftime performance, Trump took to his social media platform Truth Social to express his anger over the show. The 79-year-old president did not hold back in his assessment of the Puerto Rican rapper’s appearance.
“The Super Bowl Halftime Show is absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER!” Trump wrote. He claimed the performance “makes no sense” and does not reflect America’s “standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence.”
Trump also criticized Bad Bunny’s music and presentation, saying viewers could not understand the lyrics. “Nobody understands a word this guy is saying,” he wrote, taking issue with the language barrier for a global audience.

The former president went on to describe the dancing as “disgusting,” particularly for children watching across the United States and around the world. He labeled the halftime show a “slap in the face” to the country.
Linking criticism to broader claims
In the same post, Trump connected his criticism of the performance to broader national achievements. He claimed the US is setting records “every single day,” including what he described as the best stock market and 401(k) performance in history.
Trump’s criticism was not entirely unexpected. In an interview with the New York Post last month, he had already dismissed Bad Bunny and Green Day, who performed before the game, as “terrible” selections for Super Bowl LX.
At the time, Trump suggested he anticipated divisive messaging from both artists, signaling his dissatisfaction with the NFL’s entertainment lineup even before the event took place.
