A wild snake, termed as the longest in the world, has been found in Indonesia, and the Guinness Book of World Records has confirmed the claim.
According to media reports, the very large reticulated python found in Indonesia’s Maros region was officially measured and declared the longest wild snake in the world. The record-keeping organisation confirmed, after reviewing the evidence, that the female snake measures 23 feet 8 inches in length.
The snake is currently under the supervision of conservation expert Budi Purwanto, licensed snake catcher Diaz Nugraha, and natural history photographer Radu Frentiu.
Nugraha and Frentiu said they began searching for the unusually long snake after hearing reports of its presence.
They named the snake “Ebu Baron”, meaning “Baroness”. The adult length of a reticulated python typically ranges from 9 feet 10 inches to 19 feet 2 inches.
