Anurag Kashyap has strongly denied any connection to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein after his name allegedly appeared in the recently released Epstein Files. He called the claims misleading and clickbait.
According to Indian media reports, unverified documents circulating online refer to a “Bollywood Boy” and a “well-known Bollywood director,” descriptions that some have linked to Kashyap. One alleged email claims that the filmmaker was expected to attend an Epstein-associated event in Beijing in 2017.
Kashyap has categorically rejected the allegations. He told Indian media that he has no knowledge of such emails or events. He receives numerous invitations every month and rarely responds, and he has never been to Beijing. He questioned the authenticity of the documents, calling them random and baseless.
The Epstein Files are a collection of documents, emails, images, and testimonies that emerged following legal action by victims of Jeffrey Epstein, the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender who died in jail in 2019. Epstein operated a network that allegedly involved politicians, billionaires, celebrities, and academics.
A private Caribbean island, often called Paedophile Island, was reportedly used to traffic and sexually exploit underage girls. Epstein also owned a private jet known as the Lolita Express, which allegedly transported high-profile guests between his properties.
Epstein was born into a middle-class family in New York and began his career as a mathematics teacher. Despite lacking a college degree, he rose rapidly in elite financial and political circles. Ghislaine Maxwell, daughter of British media tycoon Robert Maxwell, played a significant role in his network, allegedly recruiting and grooming underage girls. Maxwell was later convicted for her role in the trafficking operation.
