Indian T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav has said that his team has not refused to play Pakistan and will travel to Colombo as scheduled.
Speaking on the matter, Suryakumar said that India’s flights to Colombo have already been booked and the team remains prepared to fulfil its fixture. “We have not declined to play. We will go to Colombo to play,” the Indian captain said.
The Pakistan cricket team have decided to boycott its 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup group-stage match against India, scheduled for February 15, following instructions from the country’s government.
In a statement issued on its official X account on Sunday, February 1, the government allowed the national team to travel to Sri Lanka for the tournament but announced that the team would not take the field against India on February 15, 2026.
