Anticipation for the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League has already intensified following the direct signings of marquee players, including Steve Smith (Sialkot Stallionz), Moeen Ali (Karachi Kings) and Devon Conway by Islamabad United.
Attention has now shifted to the league’s first-ever player auction, scheduled to take place on February 11. The auction ceremony will be held on February 11. According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), any player whose bidding begins at Rs420 million will require franchises to increase each subsequent bid by a minimum of Rs15 million.
Similarly, for players with a base price of Rs220 million, bids must rise by at least Rs5 million each time, while players priced at Rs110 million will see a minimum bid increase of Rs2.5 million.
Each squad will consist of a minimum of 16 and a maximum of 20 players. Depending on squad size, teams may include between five and seven overseas players.
Franchises must field at least three and no more than four overseas players in the playing XI.
Teams are also required to include a minimum of two under-23 players in their squads, with at least one under-23 player named in the playing XI.
