Pakistan Women’s cricket team has suffered a major setback ahead of its tour of South Africa as all-rounder Rameen Shamim has been ruled out due to injury.
According to details, Rameen Shamim sustained an injury to her left thumb during a practice session at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi. Medical officials have advised her to rest for four to six weeks, making her unavailable for the upcoming tour.
Off-spinner Umm-e-Hani, who was leading the Pakistan Women’s A squad for the Asia Cup Rising Stars, has been added to Pakistan’s ODI and T20 squads as her replacement.
As a result, Umaima Sohail has been included in the Pakistan Women’s A squad for the Asia Cup Rising Stars in place of Umm-e-Hani, while Hafsa Khalid has been appointed as the new captain of the A team.
The Pakistan Women’s T20 squad is scheduled to depart for South Africa on February 7, while the Pakistan Women’s A team will leave for Thailand on February 10.
