Well-known Pakistani YouTuber Rajab Butt and TikToker Nadeem Naniwala have approached the Islamabad High Court, challenging restrictions placed on their foreign travel.
Both social media personalities are nominated in multiple cases, including cybercrime-related matters, and are currently subject to travel bans. They have filed separate petitions in the court seeking the removal of these restrictions.
According to court documents, the petitions were submitted through advocates Barrister Raja Qadeer Janjua and Ahad Khokhar. The petitioners argue that they were unjustifiably placed on the travel restriction list, which they say is adversely affecting their professional activities and livelihoods.
In their petitions, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), the Secretary Interior, and other relevant authorities have been named as respondents. The petitioners have requested the court to issue immediate orders for the removal of their names from the travel ban list.
A hearing on the petitions is expected to take place at the Islamabad High Court, after which it will become clear whether the court grants them permission to travel abroad or upholds the existing restrictions.
