Lahore Qalandars have retained captain Shaheen Shah Afridi, leading batter Abdullah Shafique, dynamic all-rounder Sikandar Raza, and emerging young talent Mohammad Naeem. The move strengthens the foundation of the squad and provides stability for the next phase of team building.
Speaking on the occasion, Lahore Qalandars owner Sameen Rana said the retention process had been the most difficult decision for the franchise.
“We are pleased to retain these players, but this was the toughest decision we have faced as a franchise. There were players who had been with us for many years and played an important role in shaping the identity of Lahore Qalandars. Unfortunately, under the rules, we were only allowed to retain four players, which forced us to make this painful choice,” he said.
The retained players are expected to play a central role in the team’s planning and on-field performance in the coming season. Lahore Qalandars remain committed to assembling a balanced and competitive squad through the PSL auction.
With a strong core in place, defending champions Lahore Qalandars appear well prepared to deliver another strong campaign in PSL 11 and continue their winning tradition.
