Renowned Indian actor Paresh Rawal, while speaking about his differences with Akshay Kumar and the filmmakers regarding Hera Pheri 3, said that making the film without his iconic character Babu Rao would be a huge failure.
According to Indian media reports, during an interview, Paresh Rawal confirmed that despite all the disagreements, Hera Pheri 3 will definitely be made. He said that once Akshay Kumar and the filmmakers resolve their differences, the third installment of Hera Pheri will go ahead.
It is worth recalling that the previous two Hera Pheri films were massive hits, starring Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal in lead roles. Among them, Paresh Rawal’s character Babu Rao emerged as the most popular and entertaining.
However, since the announcement of the third film, the project has remained surrounded by controversies.
Dismissing all speculations, the National Award–winning actor reiterated that the film will certainly be made. Explaining the delay, he said that the issue is purely a technical matter between Akshay Kumar and the producers.
Paresh Rawal further addressed rumors claiming that Akshay Kumar had filed a INR25 crore lawsuit against him, saying that such reports created unnecessary noise. He clarified that if the technical issues between Akshay Kumar and the producers are resolved, he will sign the film.
The Padma Shri awardee emphasized that his character Babu Rao is an essential part of the franchise, adding candidly that if the makers plan to proceed without Babu Rao, the film would turn out to be a major failure.
He concluded by saying that the matter is simple: once the issue between Akshay Kumar and the producers is resolved, he will sign the papers, as he has no personal issues. He firmly stated that Hera Pheri 3 will be made “100 percent.”
Meanwhile, director Priyadarshan has clarified that he will not begin work on the third installment until he fully understands and is satisfied with the script. He said he cannot confirm whether he will direct the third film unless the story does justice to the legacy of the previous movies.
