Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Thursday that Pakistan remains committed to strengthening trade relations with the European Union (EU), particularly under the GSP Plus framework.

The prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening cooperation with the European Union in all areas of mutual interest, especially trade, investment, development and security, migration, and climate change.
Highlighting the key role of the GSP Plus scheme in promoting trade between Pakistan and the European Union, the prime minister said that the government remains committed to close cooperation with the EU to advance mutually beneficial trade, particularly through GSP Plus.
The prime minister also expressed satisfaction over the seventh round of the Pakistan-European Union Strategic Dialogue held in Brussels in November last year.
The European Union ambassador said that he would continue to play an active role in further strengthening Pakistan-European Union relations across all sectors.
