Khyber Pakhtunkhwa leads Pakistan in mobile phone ownership and household internet access, according to a recent report by the Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN).
The report states that 51 percent of residents in KP use mobile phones, while 77 percent of households have internet connectivity.
Since 2019, the use of computers and laptops at the household level has remained largely unchanged. In contrast, mobile phone ownership has increased from 45 percent to 50 percent, and internet availability in homes has risen from 33 percent to 70 percent.
The report also highlights provincial differences in technology access. Fifteen percent of households in Punjab and Sindh have computers, compared with 13 percent in KP and only six percent in Balochistan.
Personal mobile phone ownership stands at 50 percent in Punjab and Sindh and 42 percent in Balochistan. Household internet usage is reported at 77 percent in Punjab and Balochistan, and 67 percent in Sindh.
FAFEN’s findings underscore the growing importance of mobile and internet connectivity in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reflecting broader trends in digital access across the country.
