India has continued its silence on the Indus Waters Treaty, even as 35 days have passed since the deadline set by the United Nations for a formal response.
According to sources, UN special representatives had sought an explanation from New Delhi regarding its actions related to the Indus Waters Treaty, setting December 16, 2025, as the deadline for submitting a response.
However, despite the expiry of the stipulated timeframe, India has yet to present any official position.
The United Nations is still awaiting India’s reply, while questions surrounding the future and implementation of the Indus Waters Treaty remain unresolved.
India’s continued silence has increasingly drawn international attention, raising concerns over transparency and compliance with international water agreements.
