The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a weather alert predicting rainfall and snowfall in several regions of Pakistan over the next 24 to 48 hours.
Heavy rain is expected in most districts of Punjab, including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, and Gujranwala. Faisalabad, Sargodha, and surrounding areas are also likely to experience rainfall.
Snowfall is expected in Murree and nearby hilly regions. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rain is forecasted in most districts, with snow likely in higher altitude areas such as Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Kohistan, Naran, Kaghan, and the Galiyat region.
NDMA has warned that heavy precipitation may trigger landslides in mountainous areas, potentially causing road blockages and damage. Quetta, Ziarat, Harnai, Sibi, Qalat, Pishin, Mastung, and Qila Saifullah have been designated as sensitive districts due to heightened risk.
Authorities have also cautioned that rain and snowfall could make roads slippery and disrupt traffic flow. Rescue teams have been directed to remain on alert and ensure the quick restoration of affected roads.
