Bangladesh have reaffirmed their position on the T20 World Cup 2026, saying that the national cricket team will not travel to India for its matches.
Sports Adviser Asif Nazrul Islam said Bangladesh would not change its stance under any circumstances. He stressed that the decision was final and had been clearly communicated. Referring to past precedent, Asif Nazrul Islam said that venues were changed earlier in the case of Pakistan, showing that alternative arrangements were possible.
He added that Bangladesh would not accept decisions made under pressure from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The sports adviser also clarified that there was no information about Scotland being included in Bangladesh’s group.
He warned that if the ICC imposed strict conditions under pressure from the Indian board, Bangladesh would not agree to them.
