Pakistan’s Under-19 cricket team claimed their first victory of the World Cup by defeating Scotland by 6 wickets.
In the match played at Harare, Scotland batted first and posted 187 runs in 49 overs before being bowled out. Scotland’s captain Thomas Knight scored 37 runs, while Finlay Jones and Oli Jones contributed 33 and 30 runs respectively.
Pakistan’s bowlers delivered an impressive performance. Fast bowler Ali Raza took 4 wickets for 37 runs, and Momin Qamar claimed 3 wickets for 46 runs, restricting Scotland to a modest total.
Chasing the target of 188 runs, Pakistan batted confidently and reached the target in the 44th over for the loss of 4 wickets. Usman Khan starred with a brilliant 75-run innings, supported by Ahmed Hussain’s 47 runs, playing a key role in the team’s victory.
Earlier, Pakistan had faced defeat against England in their opening match of the Under-19 World Cup. However, this win marked a strong comeback, boosting the team’s morale for the ongoing tournament.
