Renowned Punjabi singer and music director Pratik Bachan, widely known as B Praak, has allegedly received a death threat from the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang, with extortion demands amounting to Rs100 million (Rs10 crore).
According to reports, the threat came through a close associate of the singer, fellow Punjabi artist Dilnoor. On January 5, Dilnoor received two missed calls from an international number, which were initially ignored. The following day, he received another call from a different foreign number.
During the call, the individual identified himself as Arju Bishnoi, claiming affiliation with the Bishnoi gang. He instructed Dilnoor to pass on a threatening message to B Praak.
The caller allegedly demanded Rs100 million, setting a one-week deadline for payment. He reportedly warned that B Praak could travel anywhere in the world, but anyone found close to him would be targeted. The threat further stated that failure to comply would result in the singer being “destroyed” and killed.
Following Dilnoor’s complaint, police registered a case and launched an investigation. Law enforcement officials confirmed that efforts are underway to trace the origin of the calls and identify those responsible.
B Praak is among the most celebrated artists in Punjabi and Hindi music, known for chart-topping hits such as Mann Bharrya and Sari Duniya Jala Denge from the film Animal.
