Italy have announced a 15-member squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
According to details released on Sunday, 42-year-old Wayne Madsen will lead Italy in their maiden appearance at the T20 World Cup. Italy have qualified for the tournament for the first time. The side secured qualification for the World Cup under the leadership of former Australian cricketer Joe Burns. Burns was removed from the captaincy last month and was also dropped from the squad.
The Italian squad includes Zain Ali, Ali Hasan and Syed Naqvi. Italy have been placed in Group C alongside Bangladesh, England, Nepal and the West Indies.
The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will commence on February 7 and will be hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
