Sri Lanka have defeated Pakistan by 14 runs in the third T20 match, leveling the three-match series 1-1.
The thrilling contest saw standout performances from both sides, but Sri Lanka’s bowlers proved decisive.
Chasing target of 161 runs, the Green Shirts faltered at 146 runs. Salman Agha was Pakistan’s top scorer, smashing 45 runs off just 12 balls, while Khawaja Nafees contributed 26 runs from 15 deliveries. Mohammad Nawaz added 28 runs off 15 balls, and Sahibzada Farhan and Saeem Ayub managed 9 and 6 runs respectively. Usman Khan scored 1 run and Shadab Khan contributed 6 runs for Pakistan.
Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga was the star of the match with the ball, taking four crucial wickets to dismantle the Pakistani batting lineup.
Batting first, Sri Lanka scored 160 runs for the loss of six wickets with solid contributions from Dasun Shanaka and Kusal Mendis.
Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and opted to field against Sri Lanka.
The team made two changes to its playing XI, bringing in Khawaja Nafees and Naseem Shah, while Fakhar Zaman and Naseem Shah were given rest. The match was reduced to 12 overs per side due to weather interruptions.
In the first T20 clash, Pakistan secured a convincing win over Sri Lanka, with the batting lineup delivering strong performances and the bowlers, keeping the opposition in check.
