Eight people, including the bride and groom, lost their lives in a gas cylinder explosion at a wedding house in Islamabad.
According to details surfaced on Sunday, 12 people were injured in explosion. The incident took place in Sector G-7/2, where a gas cylinder exploded inside a house hosting a wedding ceremony. Several guests were present at the time of the blast.
An additional deputy commissioner general said that four houses in total were affected by the explosion. After the rescue operation, all individuals were recovered from the debris. The site is being examined with the help of modern equipment, while an inquiry into the cause of the explosion is under way.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed sorrow over the loss of lives in the Islamabad cylinder explosion. He directed the Minister for Health, the Secretary, and the PIMS administration to remain on alert. He also instructed the Interior Secretary to ensure a full investigation into the incident.
The prime minister offered prayers for the early recovery of the injured and directed that all possible medical treatment be provided. He called for the provision of the best available medical facilities to those injured.
He prayed for forgiveness for the deceased, expressed sympathy with the bereaved families, and directed the Islamabad administration to raise public awareness on the safe use of gas cylinders.
