Renowned Australian actress Raquel Carpani has passed away at the age of 45 following a long battle with chronic illness.
In a post shared on the photo and video-sharing platform Instagram, her parents, Tony and Gail Carpani, announced the heartbreaking news, stating: “It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beautiful daughter and Australian actress, Raquel Carpani, who died on Sunday, December 7, after a long struggle with a chronic illness.”
The statement further said that her funeral rites will be held on Friday, December 19, in the presence of close friends and family. The family has requested privacy from fans and well-wishers during this difficult time.
Beyond her acting career, Carpani was known for speaking openly on social and political issues. She was a strong advocate for women’s rights and frequently used social media platforms to raise her voice on various global issues, including highlighting the suffering of Palestinians.
Raquel Carpani enjoyed a long and successful career in Australian television and gained international recognition for her role in the popular series NCIS: Los Angeles.
