Kanishk Chouhan’s all-round performance powered India Under-19s to a 90-run victory over Pakistan Under-19s in the 5th match of the Under-19 Asia Cup 2025/26 at the ICC Academy in Dubai on Sunday.
Electing to field first, Pakistan Under-19s restricted India to 240 all out in 46.1 overs. Aaron George top-scored with 85, supported by Ayush Mhatre’s 38. Other contributors included Abhigyan Kundu, who scored 22, and Vedant Trivedi, who added seven. Extras accounted for six runs. Mohammad Sayyam, Abdul Subhan and Niqab Shafiq were the main wicket-takers for Pakistan.
Chouhan scored 46 runs and claimed three crucial wickets, earning the player of the Match award.
In response, Pakistan struggled against disciplined Indian bowling and were bowled out for 150 in 41.2 overs. Huzaifa Ahsan was the only notable contributor with 70 runs. Chouhan’s three wickets, backed by Deepesh Devendran’s three and Kishan Singh’s two, ensured a comprehensive win.
The match was reduced to 49 overs per side due to earlier conditions. India maintained a brisk scoring rate, reaching 100 in 14.4 overs and 200 in 37.2 overs, with George’s half-century anchoring the innings. Pakistan never recovered, with wickets falling regularly throughout their innings.
The victory highlighted India Under-19s’ balanced team effort and the effectiveness of Chouhan’s all-round contribution.
