Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the British Home Office in London, where he met with UK officials to request the extradition of individuals wanted by Pakistan.
During the meeting, the Pakistani government presented a detailed dossier supporting its request, officials said.
The discussions were attended by Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the UK, Dr Mohammad Faisal, who accompanied the Interior Minister during the visit.
Earlier, British High Commissioner Jane Marriott met Mohsin Naqvi for a discussion on Pak-UK relations, security cooperation, and the repatriation of Pakistanis living illegally in the UK.
The meeting also focused heavily on Pakistan’s request for the immediate extradition of Shahzad Akbar and Adil Raja.
During the meeting, both sides held a detailed conversation on strengthening bilateral ties and enhancing security cooperation.
Matters of mutual interest, including countering misinformation and improving legal collaboration, were also discussed.
Mohsin Naqvi informed the British envoy that Pakistan has formally requested the UK government to extradite Shahzad Akbar and Adil Raja, both of whom are wanted in Pakistan on various charges. He stressed that their activities require urgent legal action:
“Both individuals are wanted in Pakistan, so they should be immediately extradited,” Naqvi said.
Pakistan provided the British side with solid evidence against the two individuals, who, according to the Interior Minister, have been spreading propaganda abroad.
