The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has sought the record of Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri’s law degree from the Karachi University through the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
According to details, the proceedings will advance after reviewing the degree record and assessing the admissibility of the application. A division bench, comprising IHC Chief Justice Sarfraz Dogar and Justice Azam Khan, has issued a written order in the case concerning Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri’s degree.
The court order said that the record of Justice Jahangiri’s degree is being sought without reference to merit. The authorised officer of the Higher Education Commission shall obtain the degree record from Karachi University and submit it to the court. The HEC shall present the record along with verification of the law degree.
The court has summoned the authorised officer at Karachi University who possesses knowledge of the facts. The court directed that it would assist the proceedings regarding the admissibility of the application in future hearings.
The case has been scheduled for further rehearing on December 9.
