The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has unveiled significant visa facilitation measures for Pakistani nationals.
These measures include online visa processing, e-visas without passport stamping, Moreover, the UAE has been processing nearly 500 applications daily for Pakistani nationals.
The reforms were highlighted during a meeting between UAE Ambassador Salem M Salem AlBawab Al Zaabi and Pakistan’s Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb at the Finance Division on Thursday.
According to a joint statement, the new measures aim to ease travel for business visitors and residents, supported by improved system-to-system coordination with Pakistani authorities.
Ambassador Al Zaabi lauded the contributions of Pakistani professionals across sectors such as banking, defence, public administration, and finance, emphasizing that deepening bilateral engagement would remain a priority during his tenure.
The meeting also focused on expanding economic cooperation, with both sides showing interest in sectors such as IT, AI, agriculture, mining, logistics, higher education, ports, financial services, and virtual assets. The UAE expressed its intent to attract Pakistani technology firms and encourage further investment in Pakistan.
Additionally, the discussion covered defence cooperation and training exchanges, with both nations reaffirming a commitment to strengthening their long-standing military ties.
