A gold watch recovered from an elderly couple aboard the ill-fated British liner Titanic went up for auction and broke sale records. The pocket watch sold for 3.61 million Australian dollars.
According to foreign media reports, auctioneers said the amount set a new high for any Titanic memorabilia.
The previous record came last year when another gold watch, presented to the Titanic captain who saved more than 700 passengers, sold for 3.16 million Australian dollars.
