Former cricket captain Rashid Latif has issued a clarification regarding his recent statements made on social media and in interviews in which he unconditionally apologized for all his controversial remarks.
He stated that linking wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan’s support for Palestine to his removal from captaincy was unjustified and baseless. Latif admitted that his earlier comments were inappropriate and not supported by any concrete evidence.
"I will ensure that my future expressions of opinion are responsible, evidence-based, and measured," Rashid Latif said. He emphasized that the country’s reputation takes precedence, and making irresponsible comments is not an option.
Latif also expressed his commitment to playing a fair, balanced, and constructive role in public discourse moving forward.
