China on Wednesday strongly condemned the suicide attack in Islamabad, expressing deep sympathy for the families of the deceased and wishing a speedy recovery for the injured.
In an official press briefing, the spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry said China “firmly opposes all forms of terrorism” and will continue to support Pakistan in its efforts to combat terrorism and maintain social stability.
“China strongly condemns the terrorist attack in Islamabad. We have deep sympathy for the families of the deceased and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured,” the spokesperson stated.
The Chinese spokesperson reaffirmed that China stands with Pakistan in the fight against terrorism, noting that both nations share a longstanding partnership rooted in mutual trust and cooperation.
“China will continue to support Pakistan in counter-terrorism and social stability,” the spokesperson said, emphasizing that Beijing remains committed to helping strengthen peace and security in the region.
Beijing calls for regional peace and stability
Speaking on broader regional dynamics, the spokesperson said that Pakistan and Afghanistan are China’s close neighbours, and Beijing has always supported the promotion of strong Pak-Afghan relations.
“China supports all efforts aimed at maintaining regional peace and stability and will continue to play a constructive role in bringing the two countries closer,” the spokesperson added.
The statement highlights China’s diplomatic balancing approach in South Asia, where it seeks to promote dialogue and cooperation among neighbouring states to ensure collective security and sustainable development.
