Bollywood legend Dharmendra has been discharged from Breach Candy Hospital on Wednesday with his family deciding to continue his treatment at home.
The 89-year-old actor, who has been in and out of hospital over the past few weeks, was released on Wednesday morning, according to Dr. Pratit Samdani.
“Dharmendra ji was discharged from the hospital around 7:30 am. He will continue treatment at home, as per the family’s decision,” Dr. Samdani confirmed to Indian media.
Family and fans reassured
The discharge follows widespread social media activity, where videos of an ambulance arriving at and leaving Dharmendra’s residence fueled rumors about his health. Earlier reports suggesting the actor had passed away were quickly debunked by the family.

His wife Hema Malini, daughter Esha Deol, and other family members took to social media to assure fans that Dharmendra is alive, stable, and responding positively to treatment.
Star-studded visits during hospital stay
During his hospital stay, several family members, including sons Sunny and Bobby Deol, daughter Esha Deol, and nephew Abhay Deol, remained by his side.
The veteran actor also received visits from Bollywood peers. Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan visited on Monday night, followed by Aamir Khan and his girlfriend Gauri Spratt on Tuesday evening, showing solidarity and support for the beloved star.
